The Glory of God has defeated the night

Today we remember. And we celebrate. And we talk.

With our kids. With our friends. With our own souls.

When it looked like all was lost.  When it looked like hope had gone. When it looked like all we had dreamed and believed and loved and longed for had been buried in a tomb. At the very moment that we were ready to believe that "we were of all people most to be pitied."

God proclaimed life, light and victory.

Over death. Over sin. Over the gates of hell. Over suffering. Over pain. Over disease and despair. Over injustice. Over loneliness. Over miscarraige. Over selfishness. Over cancer. Over fear. Over disappointment.

The light shone into the darkness and the darkness could not overcome it.

In Him is life, and that life is the light of all men.
